Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Cove Cake Design is registered with the HSE according to European Communities (Hygiene of Foodstuffs) Regulations 2006. I have also completed the Primary Course in the Principles and Practices of Food Safety.

We will collaborate on your wedding cake design via email and phone. As part of your wedding packages, you will be offered a wedding cake tasting via the luxury postal wedding cake tasting experience. This comprises 8 wedding cake flavours delivered to your chosen address for you to sample at leisure.

Unfortunately all cakes presently contain wheat, eggs and dairy. Whilst all do not contain nuts, nuts are used in the kitchen so a risk of trace contamination does exist.

I currently do not offer fresh flower wedding cakes.

It is advised that you check your order carefully and let me know as soon as possible whether changes are needed. Your cake is very important to me and should you require any alterations I will endeavour to do my best to accommodate them but cannot guarantee this. If the alteration affects the cost, or if the preparatory work on your cake has already commenced, Cove Cake Design reserves the right to increase the quoted fee accordingly.

I love to collect gorgeous cake stands and have a variety which are available for hire at a cost of €40-€50 depending on size, plus a €75-€150 refundable security deposit (depending on stand) per stand. Cake stands are due to be returned within three working days of your wedding date upon which the security deposit is repaid in the absence of any damage.

When your cake is collected/delivered, I will issue you/your event coordinator with a cake information sheet which will detail storage and serving information to ensure your delicious cake is served to your guests at its very best.  To enjoy your cakes at their freshest, we recommend that they are consumed within 24 hours of delivery/collection.

I offer a delivery and set-up service for wedding cakes for venues within a 90min radius of Dublin. Please enquire about prices for your venue. Collection may be available for your cake depending on size and design required.

I deliver within a 90min radius of South Dublin. Due to cost I do not offer delivery outside of this area. Some smaller cakes may be suitable for collection, please enquire. If you wish to collect your cake, it will be packaged appropriately and you will be issued with storage and transportation guidelines. Cove Cake Design cannot accept responsibility for any damage to collected cakes after they have left the premises.

Cancellations must be made in writing by post or email. As your cake booking and date is reserved for you all booking fees of €150 are non-refundable and non-transferable to an alternative date.

Should you wish to cancel your order the following terms apply: For wedding cake orders cancelled more than 4 weeks in advance of your date only the booking fee is forfeited. For orders cancelled within 4 weeks, the full balance paid is forfeited.

In the event that we are unable to supply your order on the agreed date due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, accident, injury, bereavement etc., we reserve the right to seek substitute companies to fulfill the order. In the event that a substitute cake designer cannot be arranged we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.

These are our most popular FAQs but detailed Terms and Conditions policy will be emailed to you on enquiry.

In compliance with General Data Protection Regulation requirements we have a detailed data privacy policy which details why and how we collect personal information, how it is stored, protected and handled. Please view this policy here.
